GENERAL INFORMATION:
Welcome to VBS!
We invite
you to join us in an ecumenical VBS program & outreach to the children of the
Salem community. This is the 15th year for the three churches to
cosponsor VBS together!
Program Theme:
Our theme this year is Power Lab: Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power! Plug
into an exciting celebration of Jesus’ love filled with new friends, amazing
crafts, wacky snacks, mind-blowing Bible adventures, hyper-speed games, &
incredible music. Power Lab is exploding with fun for children, youth & adults.
Everyone involved in this year’s VBS will bubble over with God’s love…and will
be never the same again!
Schedule:
This high-voltage VBS begins each day with check in at the registration table,
putting on name tags, picking up t-shirts, then joining Lab Crew Leaders in
their assigned pew in the sanctuary for Sonic Sign & Play to sing & do fun
motions to upbeat Bible songs that introduce kids to the concepts they’ll be
learning that day. Each Lab Crew has a mix of ages & is supervised by youth &
adult leaders. Then Lab Crews visit five different Lab Stations. They sample
tasty snacks at Test Tube Treats, go to Bible Blast, make delightful creations
in Wacky Works Crafts, have fun at Hyper-speed Games, & meet Chadder Chipmunk in
Science Cinema. The morning concludes with everyone coming together for Faith
Fusion Finale, a daily celebration of Jesus’ power.
Drop Off/Pick Up Procedure:
Daily
registration begins at 9:30am in the gathering area foyer and ends at 12 noon
Monday through Friday. Parents please do not bring your children before 9:30am
as our staff will not be available until then to care for them. Also, please
pick up your children from their Lab Crew Leaders in the sanctuary promptly at
12noon. We will NOT release children to meet parents in the parking lot. Please
provide a written note for any changes in who will pick up your child at the end
of the morning.
Closing Session and Picnic:
Parents and family members are invited to join their children on Friday, June 27th
at 11:45am for the closing session in the Church sanctuary. Please bring a
picnic blanket, lunch, drinks, & table service. We will picnic together on the
playground (weather permitting).
MISSION PROJECT: TABLE OF PLENTY
This year’s VBS Mission
Project will be Table of Plenty. Table of Plenty is an outreach mission of
Queen of Peace Parish in cooperation with Marion Polk Food Share which
provides food to the Salem community. On the first day of VBS we will send
home an information flyer listing what items we are collecting. Please
bring your donations during the week of VBS. Marked boxes will be located
near the registration area. Thank you for your support!
