Seasonal Notes from the Principal
From Debilyn Janota,
Principal
The Queen of Peace School environment reveals a great deal
about our commitment to provide an atmosphere conducive to learning. It is also
evident that our Catholic values and virtues are practiced and a priority. When
anyone enters through our red doors, they should feel, see, and experience “What
Makes Queen of Peace School Catholic!” Courtesy, respect, safety, caring and
welcoming are just a few areas that are evident and expected by all those
present in our school. Seeing visible signs of our faith such as a crucifix in
every room gives witness to our faith in Jesus whose sacrifice is the core of
our faith. Bulletin boards and classroom displays reflect and share our faith
with each other.
Our school philosophy and mission statements identify our
purpose in serving the Church. It is our charisma that identifies who we are to
school visitors and the local community and is drawn from our staff, our
students and their families, and our parish. Our School-wide Learning
Expectations identify the vision we have for each Queen of Peace student as they
reach the sixth grade. As a ministry of Queen of Peace Parish and under our
pastor, Father George Wolf’s guiding direction and pastoral leadership, we
embrace service, learning, and a faith-filled stewardship that provides a
life-long learning experience for all those at Queen of Peace School.
Our written curriculum is witnessed and experienced on our
faith. The core subjects are intertwined with our faith, our religion and our
Catholicity. We provide many basic learning materials and incorporate our faith
values simultaneously. Queen of Peace School continues to stress high academic
standards yet; we will meet the developmental learning of each student wherever
they are on the learning spectrum.
Above all, we are a Catholic parish school where we work
very hard as stakeholders to ‘walk and talk’ the example our Lord, Jesus gave
us. As our mission statement says:
“Queen of Peace is a Catholic parish school centered in
Gospel values and dedicated to the spiritual and educational development of
the whole child.”
We invite you to stop and come through our red doors and
witness what we do and live by here at Queen of Peace School. I would love to
visit with you and share why I continue to say ‘yes’ as the principal.
Yours in Christ,
Debilyn Janota
